Max grew up in Annapolis, MD, sailing competitively in the Chesapeake Bay and racing all over the east coast. He started working on Nantucket in 2016 and has continued to return to the island working on vessels of all sizes. He has worked for various boatyards and commercial operators on the island and continued to do side jobs for boaters visiting Nantucket. In 2020 he obtained his first United States Coast Guard License and currently holds his 25-ton masters with a towing endorsement. Additional certifications include National Marine Electronics Association, STCW Basic Training & STCW Maritime Security.
